The requirements for funding
- The project must be Franciscan
- A project proposal with a well thought out rationale (i.e. – what is intended, what is needed, how will success be measured), a clear plan of action, and a detailed, well-researched budget
- A general view of the financial situation of the Franciscan group requesting the grant, along with a list of others being asked for funding (the Franciscan Foundation asks that if other funding for the project becomes available, the request be withdrawn and monies returned so that those most in need will be able to be funded)
- A final report on the completed project, including pictures and/or anecdotal reporting; further funding requests will be accepted but not considered without a report on the previous project
- Requests are usually considered at the Franciscan Foundation’s August meeting. Requests are due by July 01 each year and should be sent to the Secretary of the Foundation. The application is available online (you may access it by clicking here)
- It is very important to include verification of your status as a charitable organization. If you are based in the United States please submit your listing information from the Catholic Directory. If you are based outside the United States, please attach a letter from your local ecclesiastical authority
