Designated Funds
We welcome other members of the Franciscan family to donate a portion of their assets alongside the other designated funds that have been established within the Franciscan Foundation. These restricted assets will be monitored carefully and reported on regularly, and can be for specific purposes such as care for senior religious and formation of new Franciscans, or other areas designated by the individual Provinces or congregations.
The following are groups that have donated funds to establish designated/restricted funds within the Foundation (with access to their web-site)
- Province of Our Lady of Consolation, USA
- Province of St. Maximilian Kolbe, India
- Mount St. Francis Center for Spirituality
- Franciscan Retreats and Spirituality Center, Prior Lake
- Custody of Mary Mother of the Poor, Central America
- Province of the Franciscan Protomartyrs, Zambia
Non-Designated Funds
Gifts from individuals to the non-designated portion of the assets, however, allow the Foundation flexibility in awarding grants. All funds within the Foundation follow a principle of tithing, in which an additional 10% of the growth of monies from designated funds are awarded to less fortunate Franciscans and their ministries.
